Flamenco & Alhambra Tours
Flamenco & Alhambra Tours uses flamenco as a guiding thread to understand the history, social memory and cultural identity of Andalusia. Our motto sums up this vision: “Discover Andalusia through flamenco.”
The project grew out of the experience of Miguelón, an official tour guide born in Jerez de la Frontera, where from a young age he developed close friendships with local Gypsy families. This personal connection allowed him to understand flamenco not only as music or performance, but also as a form of expression deeply connected to family, memory and everyday life.
The company offers private tours, tailor-made cultural experiences and programmes for travel agencies, companies, conferences, incentive groups, universities and cultural organisations, with the option of including performances by local artists during the tour.
Based in Granada, its experiences connect the Alhambra, the Albaicín and Sacromonte with the history of the Andalusian Gypsy community, European Romanticism, the 1922 Cante Jondo Competition and other expressions of Andalusian culture, such as Holy Week and Christmas traditions.
Official Tourist Guide of Andalusia
Miguelón has a university background in Tourism and international professional experience within the tourism industry. Born in Jerez de la Frontera and currently based in Granada, his background connects two important territories for understanding Andalusian flamenco culture.
Flamenco & Alhambra Tours works with international visitors and develops experiences particularly suited to travellers interested in heritage, history, flamenco and local culture. The project combines the interpretation of tangible and intangible heritage, presenting Granada not only as a monumental destination, but also as a gateway to understanding Andalusian culture.
